Why Nothing is Incurable

To explain why nothing is incurable, we need to start by uncovering who God is and who we are as the child of God. The Bible tells us God is all and made all in His image and likeness (see Genesis 1). God created us perfect, whole, and complete. Each and every one of us has been that way for all eternity. Nothing can ever change that fact.

So, right here to begin with, it’s so wonderful to know that you have been Gods perfect child for all eternity. You have been complete and whole for all eternity!

When we are feeling ill, it is not Gods child that’s ill. Gods’ idea can never be anything but whole and perfect. The way we are healed from any problem is to see the child God created. See the spiritual qualities God created.

Christ Jesus summed up the law of healing in a brief statement: “Ye shall know the Truth, and the Truth shall make you free.” (John 8:32) What is this truth? To know the truth is to know what God knows about you, or any given situation.

So, what does God know about me? One of my favorite quotes from Mary Baker Eddy says “Jesus beheld in Science the perfect man, who appeared to him where sinning mortal man appears to mortals. In this perfect man the Saviour saw God's own likeness, and this correct view of man healed the sick.” That corresponds perfectly to what Jesus said… we shall know the truth and the truth will make us free.

So, how does God see me? He sees His reflection. He sees a collection or grouping of His qualities such as: peace, harmony, joy, integrity, innocence, wisdom, love, etc. Is that how you are seeing yourself? Is that how you’re seeing your children? Don’t we so easily tend to identify people as being in the “terrible twos,” “too old,” “too young,” “sick,” “healthy,” etc.

So if God is seeing us as His qualities, His image, how can there even be anything that can become ill, diminished, decayed, etc? Gods’ qualities can’t be anything less that perfect, whole. Since we are the image of God, the qualities that God created, that leaves nothing to be destroyed. If our spiritual qualities can’t be destroyed, there’s nothing to cure, but our view of things. Hence, nothing is incurable. Are we seeing the qualities of divine Love, or are we believing what our bodies are trying to tell us? .

When we or someone else is faced with a so-called incurable disease, be it the common cold, cancer or AIDS, the simple remedy lies in the brief but powerful statement from Christ Jesus “Ye shall know the Truth and the Truth shall make you free.”

An example of this happened recently. Two different women called me one week for Christian Science treatment. Both women said they had a lump in their breast. And, both women were healed with just one treatment. I began the treatments by knowing with all my heart that the only thing that exists is God and His ideas. I then focused on the God-given qualities these women expressed. There were no thoughts like “this might be a difficult disease to heal,” or “those poor women.” My thought was strictly focused on God and His ideas. I knew the Truth about these women and they were both immediately healed.

I didn’t have to ask God to heal them. Why? Because He had already created them perfect all eternity ago. So their healing was a guaranteed success. God already saw them as complete, perfect, whole, etc. He had already created them that way. It was my job to see them that way too. Then the healings came immediately.

Force yourself to see Gods qualities instead of the mortal/material body that appears before you and you will begin to experience the freedom that was yours all along. See the “truth” about people, about yourself, your family, your co-workers. See them the way Christ Jesus would see them. It’s such a freeing and healing journey!
